Jo is a leader in energy transition, advising on many Australian firsts and award-winning renewable and decarbonisation projects. Jo has over 20 years’ experience in the power, decarbonisation, regulatory and climate change fields.
Jo’s deep understanding of the power industry and electricity regulation, combined with her project and infrastructure development experience, provides a practical and insightful approach while appreciating the technical aspects of energy and decarbonisation projects. She regularly acts for developers, utilities, miners and heavy industry in the energy transition and decarbonisation journey.
She advised on both the WA energy innovation project of the year in 2023 (East Kimberly Green Ammonia and Hydrogen Project) and again in 2024 (AU$65 million ARENA funded Project Symphony which was a joint development between Synergy, Western Power and AEMO). Other highlights include advising on a 100MW embedded renewable microgrid, capture and storage of industrial emissions, Australia's longest electric vehicle highway, Collie big battery, battery minerals processing and commercialisation of stand-alone power systems.
In the regulatory space, Jo is well across the regulation of gas, electricity and essential infrastructure. In the climate change space, she advises on the safeguard mechanism, climate related financial disclosures, carbon unit transactions and decarbonisation strategies.
