Jessica is a Special Counsel in our Resources and Energy practice.
Jessica has over a decade of experience as an energy lawyer. She specialises in front-end energy transition, decarbonisation and renewables projects and in advising clients in the downstream electricity market on retail, wholesale and network access contracting and regulation.
She advises clients primarily in the energy, regulatory and competition areas. Jessica has a particular interest working with clients in the Australian energy industry, advising in relation to the new energy transition, including new energy trials and projects and renewables projects, as well as on retail, wholesale market and network contracting and regulation. In particular, Jessica has a deep understanding of the Western Australian electricity market and its regulatory frameworks, having acted for utilities, developers and regulators over the years.
Jessica’s experience includes advising on: a Western Australian-first virtual power plant trial; the connection of a big battery to Western Australia’s main electricity grid; a 100MW embedded renewable microgrid; the commercialisation of stand-alone power systems; remote power solutions; the capture and storage of industrial emissions; the regulation of microgrids; grid connection and access agreements; and significant regulatory and legislative reforms reshaping the Western Australian electricity industry.
