Andrew is a Partner and the leader of our Intellectual Property, Technology and Cyber Security practice group and a co-leader of our Technology and Digital Economy sector.

/ Experience

Andrew has over 20 years’ experience advising clients on information technology, data and privacy, procurement and probity, and has acted for a range of public and private sector organisations on IT projects, such as Software as a Service products, software licensing, implementation and support, cloud services and privacy and data advice.

Acting for government clients at the local, state and federal level, Andrew has a wealth of knowledge of government ICT contracting, having advised on the development of the Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) Framework in Queensland and the equivalent framework in New South Wales (Procure IT).

Andrew is highly regarded for his commercial and pragmatic advice, regularly acting for local and international clients on software licensing and support contracts, ICT services and cloud computing. He is well versed in a broad range of data and privacy, such as value capture, management, security and breaches, with a specific focus on strategic procurement and the development, negotiation and implementation of complex contracts.

Andrew also provides initial and ongoing support to clients in the start-up ecosystem, advising on structuring, protecting intellectual property, fund raising and fund agreements, NDAs, employment arrangements and regulatory issues.
