Olivia is a Special Counsel in our Planning and Environment practice.
Olivia advises clients on environmental and development approvals, project due diligence, the interpretation of planning schemes, conditions and related legislation, compensation issues, and environmental compliance and enforcement issues. Her experience includes undertaking environmental due diligence for small and large property development, infrastructure and resources projects.
Olivia has represented clients in litigation, appeals and originating applications in the Planning and Environment Court, Land Court and has defended prosecutions in the Magistrates Court. Olivia has also acted as a legal advisor on several large and complex development applications across Queensland, particularly in pre-lodgement negotiations and negotiating acceptable conditions of approval.
Olivia is a trusted advisor to local governments and was seconded in-house at the Council of the City of Gold Coast in 2023. In this embedded experience, Olivia gained a deeper appreciation of the day to day operations of local government and how practical and proactive legal input enhances outcomes.
