HopgoodGanim Lawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of five partners and the promotion of a further 23 lawyers and two legal operations team members, effective 1 July 2024.
Continuing to strengthen their leadership across key strategic practice areas, HopgoodGanim has announced four internal promotions to the partnership level, including Kayla Causer (Construction, Infrastructure & Major Projects), Luke Dawson (Corporate and M&A), Robyn Lamb (Planning and Environment) and Steven Hunwicks (IP, Technology and Cyber).
Among the new partners is the lateral appointment of Ryan Chorley (Commercial Property), who joins the firm from Jackson McDonald.
Commenting on the latest leadership promotions, Managing Partner Luke Mountford shared that “Each newly appointed partner from within HopgoodGanim has demonstrated exceptional expertise in their respective areas and a steadfast commitment to growing and upholding the values of the firm.”
This year’s impressive number of promotions reflects our continued growth in Brisbane and Perth across key priority markets.” He added.
Of the internal partner promotions, Kayla Causer specialises in front-end and back-end construction advice, with significant experience in resolving highly technical industry specific issues. She has a strong understanding of the construction and engineering industry and has been a valued brand ambassador engaging in a number of secondments with significant clients.
Luke Dawson specialises in public mergers and acquisitions, with expertise in company takeovers, schemes of arrangement, proceedings in the Takeovers Panel and the takeover defence. Luke regularly advises on capital markets and private mergers, together with all other aspects of corporate and securities law.
Robyn Lamb is a skilled planning and environment lawyer with expertise in development applications, approvals and appeals, infrastructure charging, and environmental issues. She also assists with and manages appeals in the Planning and Environment Court, matters in the Land Court and judicial review in the Supreme Court.
Steven Hunwicks is Head of HopgoodGanim’s Cyber Security practice and has extensive experience in commercial and legal roles. His practice is focused on cyber security risks including preparedness and incident response, privacy and data protection, and technology contracting. Steven also advises on intellectual property protection and commercialisation, telecommunications, software development and project contracting models.
Lateral hire, Ryan Chorley is a highly skilled real estate practitioner, bringing extensive experience in commercial property, leasing, and agribusiness. Ryan specialises in commercial and mixed-use development projects, as well as the acquisition and disposal of shopping centres, office buildings and farming properties. He also advises on leasing transactions and Foreign Investment Review Board compliance for his clients.
As HopgoodGanim approaches its 50th year, the firm has also elevated 23 lawyers and two legal operations team members to more senior positions. This includes six special counsel, six senior associates, 11 associates, as well as a Senior Business Analyst and a Marketing & Communications Advisor.
Marking 12 months since his transition to Managing Partner at HopgoodGanim, Luke commented: "We are delighted to welcome Ryan and our newly promoted colleagues to the partnership and senior roles across the firm.
