HopgoodGanim is pleased to announce significant investment in Australia’s largest and longest-serving governance consultancy, Effective Governance.

This exciting new governance advisory service complements HopgoodGanim’s traditional legal offering by providing clients with an additional depth and breadth of service.

The move will see the firm’s clients have access to a more integrated suite of corporate governance solutions — from governance, board and CEO reviews, as well as strategy and risk management services and professional development for boards through to the more traditional legal and regulatory compliance offerings that HopgoodGanim have provided for more than 40 years.

James Beck, Managing Director of Effective Governance, says today’s announcement supports the resurgence of multi-disciplinary practices, delivering both legal and consulting services.

“We are pleased to join our capabilities with such a well-respected legal brand as HopgoodGanim,” Mr Beck said.

“While some law firms promote they offer governance services, it’s often with just a legal and compliance lens. Our well established solutions provide a greater depth of analysis so that we can assist our clients to implement governance effectively, with a focus on adding value and enhancing the organisation’s bottom line.”

HopgoodGanim Managing Partner, Bruce Humphrys, says this investment represents a strategic move by his company at a time when the legal services industry is facing significant change.

“We have been testing the appetite of our clients for non-legal advisory services for several years and the need is strong,” Mr Humphrys said.

“Our new multi-disciplinary service offering now allows us to offer our clients a classically complimentary suite of services to enhance the legal solutions we already provide.”

“We’ve worked with Effective Governance on transactions in the past. This announcement is the first time our firm has publicly promoted a non-legal advisory service offering, and we are proud of our relationship with Effective Governance and confident moving forward.”

This announcement caps off a busy and positive financial year for HopgoodGanim, who recently confirmed they will join forces with Perth-based specialist projects and resources firm, Hunt & Humphry, and who earlier in the year launched their Patent Attorney service.

Staff from the Brisbane Effective Governance office will relocate to work side-by-side with HopgoodGanim in Waterfront Place, Brisbane, from 3 July 2017.
