For our community, we’re proud to feature some of the charities and organisations that we’ve formed strong partnerships with over the years, to explore the history and value of these relationships to HopgoodGanim, and to highlight the incredible work they are doing to assist their community.
The Salvation Army is an international movement and mobilised force that provides social services, community support and emergency assistance to those in need, without discrimination. They are committed to being inclusive and valuing the safety and wellbeing of others, as well as bringing hope to those experiencing hardship or injustice.
Since establishing itself in Australia in 1880, The Salvation Army has offered key services, including addiction recovery, food and hunger relief, youth and family support, employment and skills training and housing programs across the country. What started with a small meeting of a railway worker and builder in Adelaide’s Botanic Park, has grown to more than 350 established corps helping hundreds of thousands of Australians each year.
From country to country, The Salvation Army is primarily driven by local people working passionately to make a difference. Empowering and equipping people to impact their own community has always been a key focus, allowing the richness of true international partnership and collabouration while holding tightly to the importance of local community impact.
HopgoodGanim are proud to have supported The Salvation Army for more than 20 years, this has included charitable donations, staff participation in the Salvos Sleepout, regular volunteering in programs including the Christmas hamper packing, as well as ongoing fundraising towards The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.
As a firm, we have also been a principal sponsor of their Brisbane Red Shield Appeal Launch for over a decade. The Red Shield Appeal helps deliver vital community programs and social services such as emergency financial assistance, refuge for women and children in crisis and both immediate and long-term emergency and disaster relief.
