Now in our 50th year, we’re celebrating 5 Decades of Exceptional Outcomes for our people, clients and community.

For our community, we’re proud to feature some of the charities and organisations that we’ve formed strong partnerships with over the years, to explore the history and value of these relationships to HopgoodGanim, and to highlight the incredible work they are doing to assist their community.

The Lady Musgrave Trust is Queensland’s oldest charity, and since 1885, has provided practical solutions that transform lives and transition young women who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness to a life of opportunity and prosperity.

Each year, The Lady Musgrave Trust provides over 8,000 nights of safety and distributes over 22,000 copies of its service directory and information hub for Queensland women in need, known as The Handy Guide. The Trust also connects at-risk women to more than 2,500 services, including accommodation, healthcare and support agencies, and contributes more than $30,000 in rent subsidies annually.

Along with their work directly assisting women and children, The Trust also advocates for important reform and policy changes so that all Queensland women can live in safety.

The Lady Musgrave Trust receives no ongoing Government funding. Instead, The Trust delivers on its mission by working in partnership with organisations and individuals who share their commitment.

HopgoodGanim are proud to be enduring corporate partners of The Lady Musgrave Trust, providing financial support, pro bono legal assistance, and driving fundraising initiatives to help their cause since 2019.

On the significance of this partnership, Leanne Collingburn, HopgoodGanim Lawyers Partner and Head of Pro Bono said “The Lady Musgrave Trust is a long-standing pro bono and philanthropic partner of our firm, who deliver real outcomes for young women and children, many of whom are victim-survivors of family and domestic violence”.

This cause is deeply aligned with our values and reducing family and domestic violence is a significant pro bono focus for us, so we are committed to supporting The Lady Musgrave Trust’s mission in any way we can."

Since the launch of our Pro Bono Impact Strategy in 2022, we have increased our support for The Lady Musgrave Trust, providing pro bono legal advice to help both The Trust expand their services, and to assist tenants directly with legal issues relating to their situation and securing their future.

“Through our pro bono work, we’ve seen first-hand the profound difference The Lady Musgrave Trust makes in the lives of their tenants. They make a very real impact, because everything they do is led by those they are seeking to assist.”

For many years, HopgoodGanim has also been thrilled to support The Trust through various fundraising initiatives, including participating in the Noosa Triathlon to help raise awareness and funds for their latest endeavour, the Logan Housing Project – a transitional housing complex that will provide an additional 4,000 nights of safety for Queensland women and children.

“We are excited to continue working together with The Lady Musgrave Trust to help create lasting, positive change for young women in Queensland.”

HopgoodGanim are grateful to have formed such a meaningful partnership with The Lady Musgrave Trust and their dedicated team. Their unwavering commitment to supporting women and children in need is truly exceptional.
